If you have a group plan, all of the contributions you make into your RESP will be used to pay off the sales charge until half of it has been paid. After that, only half of what you contribute will go towards paying off the rest of the fee until it’s paid in full. The reasoning behind this is simple, we want you to be able to pay off the sales charge as soon as possible, but we also realize that you want to be able to accumulate savings in the early stages of your plan
